I read your article with interest. I believe you to be sincere. I am a foreigner and have no vote in your Presidential election, so my views on that are just that – my views, and of no importance. But I do have a view on the pro-life/pro-choice debate. I was also raised a Catholic, but consider myself fortunate to have escaped the blinkered thinking and teachings of the church. To date, no one has ever told me why a child, raped by her father, should be forced by the Catholic Church to carry that child to term and then deliver it, even at the risk to or cost of her own life, and that that is, in some way, better than termination. Can you justify, rationalise that? Because, if not, I will remain a sceptic.
